CHCA Fashion Show ready to hit the runway

It’s an annual event that many look forward to featuring some of the best fashions and accessories from the Cranbrook Health Care Auxiliary (CHCA) Thrift Store on 8th Avenue.

Tomorrow, Thursday, October 17 at 6 p.m. the fun will start with a chance to bid on silent auction items, take your chance on the 50/50 draw or pick a lucky envelope from one of the two Treasure Trees. Tickets will also be available for the CHCA raffle featuring a first prize of a $3,300 diamond ring and earring set (compliments of Dr. Laura Zeznik), second prize a trip to Celtic Thunder concert (thanks Margy DeNeef at Kootenay Golf Vacations) and a third prize beauty basket from Kristen Knight at the Vanity Room.

The runway action starts at 7 p.m. with local favourite Loree Duzcek (pictured above) describing the fashions worn by members of the CHCA Auxiliary and several special guest models. Auctioneer Jay Savage will do his best to raise the bar to bring in funds that the CHCA will utilize to purchase much-needed medical equipment and patient comforts for the regional hospital. The models will be wearing casual, career and party wear plus a few costumes just in time for Halloween. All fashions were chosen from the generous donations receivedĀ by the Thrift Shop.

A glass of wine, some appetizers, lots of laughter and fabulous Thrift Store door prizes are sure to make the evening an enjoyable one.

Tickets are $25 and are still available at the Thrift Store on 8th Avenue or at the CHCA Gift Shop at the East Kootenay Regional Hospital.

Tables can still be reserved by calling Eldene Smedstad 250 489-4003.
