Dirtbag Festival is returning to Kimberley
The incredibly popular community show, the Dirtbag Festival, is finally returning after a two-year hiatus.
When asked “what is a Dirtbag?” We often refer to the headline; ‘It’s about TIME’- Dirtbags value time, time to explore all the world has to offer or simply in their own backyard. At one end of the spectrum is a Dirtbag who forgoes all trappings of a comfortable life in exchange for the ability to have as many adventures as possible. These are the Dirtbags whose kayak is worth more than their truck. At the other end is the Dirtbag who turns down a couple of overtime shifts in order to go camping with friends.
The culture is sharing their brilliance with us all, and this is very good. They instill a sense of wonder and vitality to mountain living through their various art forms, whether that be film, photography, spoken word.
On Nov 26 we get to see what they have been up to over the past while. This is a night to share with friends – get a group together and come out to the festival. Doors open a 6 p.m. and the fun starts immediately.
We have DJ, Mat B mixing for us till the show starts and after. Lots of great food and refreshments (alcoholic and non) will be available.
The line-up is far more than you have come to expect with Dirtbag – This year will be more than amazing videos and stunning pics. We have a live performance as well as a Banff Film Fest Finalist, ‘The Freedom Chair’ by Mike Douglas and starring Josh Dueck. This has been described as the most inspirational ski movie of all time.
Tickets ($22) are on sale now, get them early as this event sells out!
Tickets can be purchased at Black Bear, Kootenay Cycle Works and Sprout Grocery in Kimberley and in Cranbrook at Gerrick’s and High Country Sportswear
