Dirtbag Festival returning to Kimberley in March
The Dirtbag Festival is returning to Kimberley March 25 and 26.
“The Dirtbag Festival is a celebration of the lifestyle that is so close to our hearts here in beautiful Kimberley. It’s a collection of film, images and stories by Dirtbags, those who are willing to sacrifice and drop at a moment’s notice: their jobs, their family, their income and their homes in search of adventure,” the event website explains.
“The film competition is open to short films highlighting the lifestyle, activities and places critical to sustaining dirtbaggery. The Community Show is a collection of images from local dirtbags and the cornerstone of the festival. See Submission Information to submit your work or see festival Information for tickets.”
Friday (March 25) night will feature a presentation by world-renowned adventurer Will Gadd, with music by Calgary’s Burlap Sac and the film competition.
Saturday (March 26) night will be hosted by Dirtbag favorite Mitchell Scott, music by Kimberley’s The Hollers, the film competition, the Community Show and awards for film.
“We’re currently accepting both film and photo submissions for the festival. There is nearly $2,500 in cash and prizes for both categories,” said event committee chair Steve Tersmette.
Tickets to both the Friday and Saturday night shows go on sale Jan. 15.
