Elkford revving up for Wildcat Days
The District of Elkford’s biggest weekend party of the year returns once again this weekend, June 26 and 27.
The family festival celebrates the first pioneers in the Elkford area, including Wildcat Charlie Wiegert.
Chock-a-block with fun events, Wildcat Days features an annual parade (11 a.m.) following the pancake breakfast (8 – 10:30 a.m.), fireworks, craft and trade fair, a volleyball tournament, live entertainment and much more. The fun really gets rolling at noon.
Kick off Wildcat Days 2015 by taking in the opening show! Organizers are excited to welcome this year’s exciting, family-friendly opening act: Gymfinity Aerials… presenting Nefelibata Circus. The opening show Friday evening is free to attend and is taking place in Teck Hall at the Elkford Community Conference Centre at 6 p.m.
The Elkford Slow Pitch League/ WCD tournament is also June 26-28.
The Chamber Craft & Trade Fair on Saturday from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. at the Elkford Community Conference Centre includes a silent auction and vendors
The 10th annual Grass Smash Volleyball Tournament is on June 27 and 28.
