Fernie’s Wapiti Music Festival approaching
It’s less than a month before Fernie’a Wapiti Music Festival starts a-rockin’.
Event organizers this week introduced the start of advance tickets sales and a photography contest to win a weekend pass to the festival.
To enter the contest, go to the Wapiti Facebook page (Facebook.com/WapitiFernie) and show your festival spirit by posting your favorite festival photo. Contest closes August 13.
Fernie’s first weekend of fun and music runs August 19 and 20 with the aptly named Wapiti festival, in the spirit of the Elk Valley.
Wapiti takes the best of the Canadian Indie scene and presents it not only between one of the most beautiful mountain ranges in Canada but right along the world famous Elk River.
Incredible sound. Amazing view. Friendly people.
Performing at the festival are: Elliott Brood, Library Voices and the 2011 Juno Award Winner for New Group of the Year – Said the Whale.
Also playing are The Matinee, Yukon Blonde, Sun Wizard, Michael Bernard Fitzgerald, and local heroes Shred Kelly + more!
Take to the small town vibe, high five your neighbour and boot stomp along with the fine folks of Fernie this summer. Band bios, maps, tickets and information available at the Wapiti official website. www.ferniemusic.com.
Volunteers are still needed! Please email [email protected].
Wapiti is a not-profit event brought to you by the Fernie Mountain Music Society.
