Glenda Winters wins portrait contest

CDAC Glenda Winters with her portrait of Doris KershawGlenda Winters was the winner of Cranbrook and District Arts Council (CDAC) portrait contest during the Sam Steele Days weekend.

Participants were asked to create a portrait of a well-known Cranbrook pioneer or historic character. Glenda painted Doris Kershaw Ryckman who is reported to be the first woman to climb Fisher Peak – in 1918.

CDAC SSDThe CDAC also hosted a t-shirt painting event, in which 90 t-shirts were painted!
