Glenda Winters wins portrait contest
Glenda Winters was the winner of Cranbrook and District Arts Council (CDAC) portrait contest during the Sam Steele Days weekend.
Participants were asked to create a portrait of a well-known Cranbrook pioneer or historic character. Glenda painted Doris Kershaw Ryckman who is reported to be the first woman to climb Fisher Peak – in 1918.
The CDAC also hosted a t-shirt painting event, in which 90 t-shirts were painted!
CDAC is grateful to the Sam Steele Society for enabling these projects!
