Jaffray’s Brody earns Album of the Year Juno
Canadian Country star and former Jaffray resident Dean Brody earned his first Juno Award for Country Album of the Year at last night’s Juno Gala Dinner and Awards ceremony in Winnipeg.
Nominated for the third time in his career, Brody’s fourth album, Crop Circles (Open Road Recordings / Universal Music Canada) soared to the top of the charts upon release this past November.
“I’m so proud of the team around me, it’s been a long journey and I feel like this win is for all of us,” said Brody. “Years from now I’ll look back on this as one of the greatest honours given to me. Thank you all for your part in making this happen. What a night!”
Receiving critical acclaim for his songwriting, Brody made history in 2013 becoming the first male Canadian artist to earn two #1 songs at Country radio on the BDS and Mediabase charts for Crop Circles first single ‘Bounty’ featuring Lindi Ortega and 2012’s Platinum-selling anthem ‘Canadian Girls.’
To date, Brody’s career has spawned 12 Top 10 singles at radio becoming the #1 Most Played Canadian Artist for the past three years; seven Canadian Country Music Association Awards (CCMA) including his current reign as Male Artist of the Year and multiple sold out tours across Canada including his most recent headlining arena tour Crop Circles and Tractor Beams.
