Kimberley’s First Saturdays dove into the city’s Bavarian theme of recent decades and held a rollicking Oktoberfest Oct. 5.

Happy Hans and BC Ambulance led the parade with the theme ‘Kimberley is a Good Place to Be,’ which included about 50 children. Kimberley RCMP Detachment Cpl. Chris Newel handled traffic duties aboard a police mountain bike (Happy Hans likes the new lights!).

The city was a whirl of activity Saturday with a host of Oktoberfest-related activities, as well we plenty of special events, music in the Platzl, arts exhibits, teas, hiking, a fall harvest round-up – all capped off Rocktoberfest.
