Local captures second Juno honour
Jaffray’s Dean Brody last Sunday captured his second Juno Award – for Country Album of the Year in Canada for Gypsy Road (Open Road/Universal). Brody won the same honour for 2014’s Crop Circles.
Brody was selected over fellow nominees Autumn Hill (Anchor), Brett Kissel (Pick Me Up), Paul Brandt (Frontier) and High Valley (County Line).
He was also nominated this year for Fan Choice Award, which was won by Justin Bieber. Also nominated were Alessia Cara, Carly Rae Jepsen and Coeur de pirate, Drake, Shawn Hook, Shawn Mendes, The Weeknd and Walk off the Earth.
Brody also performed at the award ceremony, held at Calgary’s Scotiabank Saddledome, where legendary former Guess Who front man Burton Cummings was inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame.
