Indie Films Fernie’s next presentation at the Vogue Theatre is Phoenix.

Emerging from a concentration camp at the end of the Second World War, Nelly undergoes facial reconstructive surgery to repair an injury caused by a bullet wound. Presumed dead by her friends and relatives, Nelly returns to Berlin to fulfill the dream that sustained her in the camp – reuniting with her husband.

However, even as Nelly strives to reclaim the old dreams of the part, she is haunted by the rumours that it was her husband who betrayed her to the Nazis.

The film is showing Monday, October 5 at 7 p.m. at The Vogue Theatre.
