Santa Claus Parade Friday evening
Join in on the fun as the 45th annual Santa Claus Parade rolls through downtown Cranbrook on Friday, November 27.
The theme of the parade this year is ‘Classic Christmas.’ The parade will follow its traditional route along Baker Street, starting beside Safeway.
Sponsored and organized by JCI Kootenay, the parade begins at 7 p.m.
Because of the parade, the City of Cranbrook is closing Baker Street from 8th Avenue to 17th Avenue. Additionally, 8th Avenue will be closed from Baker Street to 2nd Street South, and 14th Avenue will be closed from 1st Street North to 1st Street South.
All vehicles must be off of Baker Street by the time downtown businesses close (5:30 p.m) on Friday evening, the city asks.
Please be extra cautious driving around the downtown area Friday evening due to the high amount of vehicle and pedestrian traffic from to the parade.
JCI Kootenay continues with it’s ‘Santa needs a new sleigh campaign,’ as they raise funds to replace the aging sleigh used in the annual parade. They are less than $3,000 away from their $15,000 goal.
To donate to the Santa needs a new sleigh campaign.
Running in conjunction with the parade and adding to the festival atmosphere in downtown Cranbrook is the sixth annual Winter Farmers’ Market, running from 5 to 9 p.m. in the old grocery store location at 1114 Baker Street.
