Stages School of Dance holding year end show Friday
Stages School of Dance in Cranbrook offering dance training in ballet/pointe, tap, jazz, musical theatre, Hip Hop, contemporary, lyrical and accordance and combo classes for ages three to adult. This year begins our 20th year celebration in Cranbrook.
Our dancers have recently returned home from competing in Calgary, Medicine Hat, the East Kootenay Performing Arts Festival and BC Performing Arts Provincial Festival.
The Calgary CanDance Competition had over 650 competitors. Our dances won all gold and platinum medals. High score novice duo/trio went to Cassandra Flanagan and Megan Portsmouth.
At the Medicine Hat competition our dancers were awarded five silver and 63 gold medals. Stages is proud to have won the following overall high score awards and scholarship; Super Cali – Stages Company Musical theatre group, Meaghan Featherling for all six solos, Brianna Salmon for all six solos.
Most promising dancer awards and scholarships went to Caitlin Paulson, Brianna Salmon and China Hamm. We are so proud of our dancers and their performances. All dancers at Stages School of Dance have the opportunity to take part in accredited Jazz, Tap and Ballet Exams as well as competition and performance opportunities.’
Stages School of Dance will be holding its year-end show Cinderella on Friday, June 8 at the Key City Theatre at 7 p.m. Tickets and can be purchased at Key City Theatre.
