BPNS Charity Tournament keeps on giving
The Boston Pizza Northstar Par 3 Charity Golf Tournament held in late August was certainly a major success for East Kootenay Foundation for Health and the regional hospital with seven vital signs monitors already on order.
The undertaking of the tournament takes many hours with planning and organizing. However, one of the most critical areas for success is the remarkable volunteers who donate their time to hole sit. Over 30 of these marvelous volunteers joined in on the day’s fun to watch for the yearned hole in one or the closest to the pin.
Volunteers participating were represented by East Kootenay Foundation for Health, the BC SPCA East Kootenay Branch and the Yahk Kingsgate Recreation Society.
Last week members of the Tournament Organizing Committee dropped into the local BC SPCA to present Brenna Baker and her volunteers with a token of appreciation with a gift of $500 for the local shelter. A $500 gift is also being presented to President Judy Dickson of the Yahk Kingsgate Recreation Society.
Charity and giving back to others is a theme that signature sponsors Boston Pizza (Trevor & Angela Gordon) and Northstar GM (Pat & Derek Spring) build into the tournament plan and it’s one that truly works.
Thank you to all the volunteers who participated and made the tournament an incredible success. With so many names to list we want to make sure we don’t miss one but we always want you to know how especially thankful we all are for your support.
