Chamber installs new president, board
The Cranbrook Chamber of Commerce today held its annual general meeting at the Heritage Inn & Conference Centre, installing a new president and board of directors.
Outgoing president David Struthers said he enjoyed his time as president, which included saying goodbye to long-time chamber manager Karin Penner and welcoming aboard new executive director David D Hall.
Replacing Vast Resources owner Struthers as president is Rocky Mountain Diesel owner Chris Thom, while Genex Marking owner Chris Botterill steps into Thom’s vice-president position.
Outgoing 15-year chamber board member and treasurer Jeanette Sissons, past president Dave Butler and director Brenna Baker were thanked for their time on the board.
Columbia Basin Trust board chair Rick Jensen delivered the monthly luncheon’s keynote address, providing an encouraging update on the state of affairs at the Trust.
Of note: The chamber is holding its annual Business Excellence Awards gala this Saturday, April 2 at St. Eugene Golf Resort & Casino. This year the gala will wrap up with a dance to local recording artists and renowned performers The Black Diamond Band. Contact the chamber to purchase tickets.
