Seasonal lighting makes significant difference
The Beautification Committee and the Fernie Chamber of Commerce would like to extend their sincere thanks to those businesses that took part in the ‘light up’ the highway campaign for 2012/2013.
We witnessed a number of businesses along the highway place lights around their buildings and trees. We believe that this made a significant difference to the highway and we hope will encourage others to take part in this season’s winter light up.
Creating an inviting and welcoming highway is important as this is the entrance to Fernie and sets the scene to our community.
This city has invested some funds for additional lighting and it is hoped that a number of highway trees, the Rotary Park Gazebo and some downtown signs will benefit from winter lighting. We encourage you to take part!
The Beautification Committee is a select committee of the city and functions in an advisory capacity to council. The focus is to assist the city with installations and displays of seasonal lighting, decorations, banners and flowers for festive occasions to promote community and cultural events for tourism and marketing purposes, and to instill community pride and enhance the community’s visual aesthetic.
Thank you for your support and we look forward to continued success stories.
Twinkle Twinkle Little Star – The Chamber of Commerce would also like to announce its Holiday Window theme – If you have a window and a storefront, you should definitely bother to put together a Christmas window display. An attractive Christmas window display can be a real customer draw, luring customers into your store who might not have stopped otherwise – customers who are in a festive, spending mood.
