This course will prepare participants to write the provincial examination for the “Pesticide Applicator Certificate – Industrial Vegetation and Noxious Weeds.” Participants will spend 3 days reviewing key material in the Ministry of Environments Industrial Vegetation and Noxious weed Pesticide Applicators CORE manual, including current noxious weed and herbicide legislation, impacts, safety, mixing herbicide, calibrating equipment, troubleshooting, pest management, and labeling. A large portion of time will be spent reviewing basic math principals and working through various calculations related to herbicide application. On the last day of the course, participants will have an open study session with the trainer prior to writing the exam.
This course offers a certificate for pesticide use on industrial land such as roadways (land not used for agriculture or landscape) and noxious weeds of rangeland, forest service roads.

Recommended Pre-Requisites
1. Assistant Pesticide Applicators Training – this free training is offered online by the Ministry of Environment. Successful training participant will be enabled to apply pesticides to treatment areas under the supervision of a certified pesticide applicator, safely transport pesticides to work sites, take pesticides in and out of storage, and ensure security of mobile, temporary and permanent pesticide storage facilities. 2. A grade 8 or higher math competency is recommended. Check your local communities for math refresher courses.

Cancellations
Cancellations for training sessions hosted by EKISC must be received in writing (via email) at least 10 business days in advance of the session start date in order to receive a full refund. If the cancellation request is submitted between 1 and 10 business days prior to a session, a partial refund (50% of the registration fee) will be provided. No refunds will be provided the day of, or after, the training session.
