Canada Day fundraising underway by Connect Church
Planning for the 2014 Canada Day celebrations for the City of Cranbrook is well underway thanks to Connect Church.
Connect Church will be organizing the 2014 community Canada Day festivities, events and the fireworks display for Tuesday July 1. City council has committed $4,500 to Connect Church for the festivities through the council’s 2014 Grants to Organizations. Connect Church will be also working to secure additional partnerships and funding from other community groups and businesses for this exciting day that has a budget of over $25,000.
The Canada Day fun will start at 5 p.m. at Moir Park and will include music, food, face painting, clowns, games, tattoos, bouncy castles and entertainment for the young and old.
The Good Ol’ Goats will make their first performance of their Western Canadian summer tour and the celebration will end with a fireworks show that is double the size of last year.
Residents and businesses are advised that this is a legitimate fundraiser, supported by the City of Cranbrook and you may be approached for a donation to help put on the event. Donations for the display will be collected and held by Connect Church.
If you wish to make a donation to the 2014 Canada Day festivities and fireworks display, please drop them off at 131 7th Ave S. Cheques can be made out to Connect Church.
Once all the 2014 Canada Day events are finalized the City of Cranbrook and Connect Church will begin advertising to the public through the local media and on their respective websites at www.cranbrook.ca and www.connectcranbrook.com.
