911/False alarms:

In a period of one week, out of 42 calls for service, 17 were on 911 abandoned and false alarm calls. The majority are the result of cell phones programed to dial 911 and the press of one number. These are results of accidently hitting the button.

Citizens on Patrol

I am going to make another pitch for this program. We are looking for volunteers in the community that may wish to become involved in Citizens on Patrol for Radium Hot Springs and Invermere.

My concern is that the few who are involved in each community are unable to spread their time and involvement in the program and risk burn out. If you want to look into this and wish more information, contact me at the detachment. If there is enough interest we can arrange an information session.

Nothing to do with police work!

How do you find yourself on the four yard line with 20 seconds on the clock, four opportunities with timeouts remaining?

Super Bowl back-to-back win opportunity and you don’t give the ball to Marshawn Lynch and punch your way in to victory! My team, but I refuse to feel sorry for them. Thanks for allowing me to vent.

Now, having gotten that out of the system, for you guys a reminder of an important event that happens every February that would be devastating if you happen to forget.

CVRCMP Inset2This weekend is the Calgary Boat Show; fishing, hunting and outdoor vendors on mass. If you are going down I could use some support in the Lund fishing boat section around 1 p.m. Saturday. I will be easy to spot. I will be the one on my knees pleading that I will be a good boy. Unfortunately the scouting report I’m getting back is not in my favor this year.

However, that will not prevent me from using all my negotiation, interrogation and critical incident response skills learned over the years that the RCMP has taught me. My problem is I’m up against her many years of wife and mother skills and tactics. So, not optimistic.
