Coroners ID fatality accident victim
The BC Coroners Service has confirmed the identity of a man who died after a motor vehicle incident near Yahk on May 7.
Deceased is Rudy Lauritzen, aged 64, of Riondel.
Mr. Lauritzen was the driver of a westbound car that was involved in a collision with an eastbound tractor-trailer unit on Highway 3/95 near Irishman Creek at about 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Mr. Lauritzen was deceased at the scene.
His 60-year-old wife, a passenger in the car, was transported to the East Kootenay Regional Hospital by ambulance with non-life threatening injuries. The driver of the semi trailer was not injured.
The Coroners Service and RCMP Traffic Services continue to investigate this death.
