Deb Griffith named 2022 Invermere Citizen of the Year
The Invermere Rotary Club recently presented Deborah Griffith with the 2022 Citizen of the Year award.
The long-time Invermere resident has been instrumental in a variety of local causes and events, often associated with education.
Deb was honoured for her work with Groundswell Network but also in recognition of work she has done over the years with Wings Over the Rockies (a founding director), Columbia Basin Environmental Education Network (CBEEN), Wild Voices for Kids and Friends of Kootenay (National Park).
“I am so grateful for this recognition and realize the only way I could have done any of this is by surrounding myself with good people, who also have gone above and beyond in their community service and have big vision,” Griffith said on social media shortly after being honoured by Rotary.
“Thanks to all of you who came to the award event yesterday and those who I have worked with over the years! As well a big thanks to Invermere Rotary, Barb Thrasher and all my friends and family.”
