There is a community fundraising evening at Fairmont Hot Springs’ Farside Inn on Sunday, Dec. 14, to raise support for a Canal Flats family battling cancer.

Connie and Doc Lang are a well known and loved couple not just in Canal Flats but the entire Columbia Valley community.

Connie is undergoing surgery and treatment for cancer and Doc, diagnosed with terminal cancer four years ago, cannot work.

Odds are if you have attended a fundraising or charity event in the valley, Connie or Doc, or both of them, have been there helping out – Doc often providing the tunes.

Well aware of their giving to the community, Farside owner Phil Cleland, quietly one of the most giving business owners in the valley the past 30 plus years, is arranging a fundraising evening Sunday night.

A band has been booked and details are still being put together.
