Fourth Cranbrook Thrives Luncheon upcoming
The Cranbrook Social Planning Society will host its fourth Cranbrook Thrives luncheon next Wednesday, thanks to a grant received last year from the United Way East Kootenay.
Focused on the needs of not-for-profit organizations in the East Kootenay, the Cranbrook Thrives luncheon series consists of five luncheons that enable attendees the opportunity to network with other not-for-profit organizations while benefiting from the expertise of a keynote speaker.
According to Rita Romeo, chair of the Cranbrook Social Planning Society, partnering with similar not-for-profit organizations helps to ensure there isnāt a duplication of services, reduces service gaps and helps to identify possible shared service areas.
āNot-for-profits are usually minimally staffed so thereās not a lot of flexibility in their schedules to get together and share information, but most people are able to fit in a lunch break.ā
And, while the focus of the Cranbrook Thrives Luncheon Series is not-for-profit organizations Romeo adds, āAnyone is welcome to attend.ā
The first luncheon was held in May 2015 and focused on the use of digital strategies. Septemberās luncheon highlighted community building while Novemberās luncheon featured keynote speakers from four organizations and the programs they provide that offer assistance to not-for-profits.
The fourth luncheon will be held at the Heritage Inn on Wednesday, February 10 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. and will feature David D. Hull (pictured above), Executive Director of the Cranbrook Chamber of Commerce.
āAn address by the chamber is a great choice for this successful luncheon series,ā says Romeo, āas it will focus on bringing business and community together to develop successful, sustainable partnerships that provide benefit to both the residents and businesses in the East Kootenay.ā
Tickets are $10 each and include a soup and salad lunch.
