Hydro program helps re-green Moir

Twenty six new trees have been planted at Moir Park in Cranbrook thanks to a grant from BC Hydro through its Re-greening Program.

BC Hydro contributed $3,500 and the city provided $7,000 to support the City of Cranbrook’s tree planting initiative at Moir Park.

Over the past 20 years BC Hydro has provided financial support for community tree planting in Cranbrook and communities throughout the East Kootenay. BC Hydro and Tree Canada Foundation administer the Re-greening Program and work directly with municipalities and communities around the province to support tree planting in urban areas. The partnership program helps restore, enhance and retain green space within communities, as well as encouraging low growing vegetation near power lines which helps BC Hydro continue to maintain a safe and reliable distribution system.

The City of Cranbrook thanks BC Hydro for its continued support and partnership toward the beautification of the community.
