Jumbo Wild rallies members for OCP hearing
Some members of the public are getting motivated to attend the upcoming Jumbo Official Community Plan public hearing
Jumbo Wild members are being encouraged to attend the June 16 public hearing, slated to begin at 9:30 a.m.
“The Jumbo Glacier Mountain Resort Municipality’s (JGMRM) Official Community Plan is intended to reflect the long term vision of the community. Whose vision? What community? The JGMRM has no residents and an appointed mayor, and council and is funded by $200,000 of B.C. taxpayer dollars every year,” Jumbo Wild noted on its website.
The organization that is opposed to the proposed estimated $1 billion Jumbo Glacier Resort proposal offered tips on how people can participate by attending the hearing.
1) Come to the public hearing and present your concerns with the council on Tuesday, June 16, 9:30 a.m. at the Village of Radium Hot Springs Council Chambers, 4836 Radium Blvd.
2) Come to the public hearing and show your support to oppose the OCP. You don’t have to speak – your presence alone will speak volumes. If you’re coming, throw in a sign.
3) Submit your comments ahead of time. Comments will be received until June 12 by email, fax or mail, and again on June 16 in person at the public hearing. Jumbo Glacier Mountain Resort Municipality PO Box 58 Radium Hot Springs, BC V0A 1M0 (250) 347-9068 (fax) [email protected]
