New fire reported south of Lumberton
BC Wildfire Service this morning (August 28) reports a new fire a couple of km south of Lumberton, east of the Moyie River.
Estimated at about .6 hectares, the fire is reported as person-caused.
The only other fire to report is the continuing Doctor Creek wildfire, 25 km southwest of Canal Flats, still estimated at 4,594.0 hectares, as of August 27.
Yesterday, 155 firefighters, eight helicopters and nine pieces heavy equipment battled the 10-day old fire, still the largest in British Columbia thus far this year.
