One dead, three hurt in head-on near Field
A B.C. woman is dead following a morning head-on collision on the Trans Canada Highway west of Field.
B.C. Ambulance and Field Fire Rescue responded to the report of a two vehicle head on collision near the west entrance to Yoho National Park at 8:28 a.m. June 24.
Trans Canada East Traffic Services members confirm that a westbound Toyota Camry crossed the centre line and collided with an eastbound Chevrolet pick up truck.
The collision occurred at the west entrance to Yoho National Park.
The male driver of the Toyota Camry was transported to hospital in Golden; then air lifted to hospital in Calgary. The female passenger of the Toyota Camry was deceased at the collision scene. The two occupants of the pick up truck were transported to hospital in Golden with non-life-threatening injuries. All persons involved were from British Columbia.
Members of the Trans Canada East Traffic Services unit continue to investigate the cause of this collision and are assisting the B.C. Coroners Service.
