Public invited to major funding announcement
Fernie and West Fernie residents are invited to join in on an important infrastructure funding announcement tomorrow, Friday, July 24 in Fernie.
Kootenay-Columbia MP David Wilks, on behalf of the Honourable Denis Lebel, Minister of Infrastructure, Communities and Intergovernmental Affairs, and Minister of the Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Quebec will be making the announcement at noon at Rotary Park. Joining in will be Honourable Bill Bennett, Minister of Energy and Mines, Minister Responsible for Core Review for BC and MLA for Kootenay East; Mary Giuliano, Mayor of Fernie; Mike Sosnowski, Director for Regional District of East Kootenay Electoral Area A and Rob Gay, RDEK Chair.
The announcement will be in relation to West Fernie infrastructure and w free barbecue will follow at Rotary Park.
