Radium Hot Springs Lodge demolition underway
Radium Hot Springs Lodge’s hazardous material removal has been completed and the contractor commenced demolition of the lodge Jan. 18.
The contractor started on the northwest wing of the main lodge and will proceed to the front side of the property approximately the first week of February.
Demolition activity for the front side of the property will be restricted to 7 a.m. to 12 p.m. This construction site remains closed to the public. Every effort will be made to minimize disruption to visitors to the Radium Hot Springs Pools, including limiting the use of noisy machinery when the pools are open.
The vacant lodge in Kootenay National Park was destroyed in a suspicious blaze Oct. 6, 2013.
