RBC Foundation shines for EKRH maternity

The Starlite Campaign is making one department at the East Kootenay Regional Hospital very happy last week thanks to the RBC Foundation and its Cranbrook Branch.

An astounding gift of $15,000 from the financial institution and its foundation is being dedicated to purchase four blend oxygen analgesia systems for the EKRH Maternity Unit. The equipment is utilized for pain management during labour and will be a welcomed arrival to the unit.

Christy Dobi, RBC Branch Manager for Cranbrook expresses, “At RBC we believe in the power of communities and the individuals who live in them. We also strongly believe that by supporting health care locally we all can have access to quality care right here at home.”

Health is a significant priority for RBC and they allocate about one-quarter of their annual donations budget to health and wellness organizations around the world that have a benefit to community, and have a direct impact on its employees and clients. In 2014, RBC committed more than $104 million in donations and sponsorships to support community activities and organizations.

East Kootenay Foundation for Health has had the opportunity to work with many facets of RBC including its foundation and local branches in Cranbrook and Creston.

The Starlite Campaign’s purpose is to support and strengthen health care initiatives in the East Kootenay.  This purpose could not be possible if were not from the financial donations received from organizations such as the RBC Foundation and donors like you.     The campaign runs through to January 31 and donations can be made your local hospital or health care facility, through Canada Post or by making a secure donation at www.ekfh.ca.
