RCL No. 36 supports ICU campaign
The ICU Redevelopment fundraising campaign received another $2,000 boost towards its goal thanks to members of the Royal Canadian Legion No. 36 in Fernie.
East Kootenay Foundation for Health’s (EKFH) Donna Grainger had the opportunity to meet with Legion members David Black and Marilyn Bruschetta recently to accept the generous gift toward the purchase of a bi-pap unit. The donation comes from the efforts of Legion’s annual Poppy Fund and Ways & Means Committee.
“Our 182 members of RCL #36 were extremely supportive of the idea to get behind the ICU fundraising,” shared President David Black. “As an organization with an aging membership the ICU is extremely important for our members and veterans care. We are proud to support EKFH’s efforts.”
Donations have rolled in through the summer in support of the new six-bed intensive care unit under construction at the East Kootenay Regional Hospital. EKFH reports they have several fundraisers in ICU on slate during the next month and anticipate the campaign to be nearing closer to its end goal of raising $1,000,000 for critical equipment for the only ICU in the region.
