The B.C. Coroner’s Office and Columbia Valley RCMP are investigating the death of a young Fairmont Hot Springs woman, whose body was found late last night.

At 11:51 p.m. on Jan. 24, Columbia Valley RCMP members were contacted by concerned friends stating that a friend had made threats to harm herself.

While en route to the scene, police were contacted and advised that a roommate had located the body of a 20-year-old female behind a residence located in the 5000 block of Riverview Road, which backs onto Riverside Golf Course where the body was located.

A rifle was located next to the body of the deceased female, who resided in Fairmont Hot Springs, RCMP report.

The Coroner’s Office was on scene and is continuing on with the investigation assisted by the RCMP.
