Shed and exterior of home damaged in early morning fire

Members of Cranbrook Fire & Emergency Services responded to a small structure fire in the early morning of Thursday, March 14.

Cranbrook Fire & Emergency Services received the report of the fire, located in the 1800 block of 6th Street South just before 6 a.m. Fire crews responded with one engine and quickly extinguished the blaze using approximately 800 gallons of foam based water. The fire was contained to the storage shed on the property along with the south side exterior and eaves of the home.

No injuries were reported. There is currently no estimate of the damage cost of the fire.

Investigators have determined the fire to be suspicious in nature and an investigation by the RCMP is underway.
