Trafficking outside bar leads to charges

A Calgary man and a Cranbrook manĀ faces charges of possession of a controlled substance and trafficking in a controlled substance after a bust outside a downtown bar March 26.

Cranbrook RCMP was patrolling the downtown area of Cranbrook Saturday when officers noticed two suspicious males outside one of the local bars.

Police continued to monitor the males and noted that one male handed a packet to the second and then entered the bar. The same male was noted doing the same a second time and was followed into the bar by police. Both males were arrested and a quantity of cocaine was located on both males, reportedĀ Cst. Katie Forgeron of Cranbrook RCMP.

A 22-year-old resident of Calgary faces charges of possession of a controlled substance and a 28-year-old resident of Cranbrook faces charges of possession of a controlled substance and trafficking in a controlled substance. Both males will appear in court on May 30.
