Trafficking, production charges follow search of Wardner property
Cranbrook RCMP seized over 250 marijuana plants along with marijuana bud and two loaded firearms after executing a search warrant today (Sept. 4) at a Wardner property.
The property searched was located on Colony Road, approximately 25 km east of Cranbrook off Highway 3.
Once on the property police found three rooms in the basement of the house that contained a total of over 150 marijuana plants. Over 100 more plants were located outside. A quantity of dried marijuana bud was also seized.
Upon arrest police determined the subjects had a loaded shotgun in their possession; inside the house a loaded 40-caliber handgun was also found.
Over 200 plants were mature and close to harvest, while approximately 50 were small clones.
A male and female were arrested at the residence. Police will be recommending charges of Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking and Production of a Controlled Substance.
