Elk Valley Bear Aware is reporting that the Gorby Trail and Red Tree Road area are closed until further notice, due to bears feeding on a carcass in area.

“A bear with cubs have been reported feeding on a carcass by the Gorby Trail and Red Tree Road junction in Mt Fernie Provincial Park. This area will be closed and please keep out until further notice. Thank you for respecting this closure and preventing human/wildlife conflict,” EVBA reported June 2.
