AIS Mobile Inspection Station hitting the road

Parks Canada’s Aquatic Invasive Species (AIS) Mobile Inspection Station is hitting the road and will be stationed in Kootenay National Park July 23 and 29.

When entering a new waterbody in Banff, Yoho and Kootenay national parks, users of watercraft and water-related gear must obtain a new AIS Prevention Permit.

If you are unable to meet the Clean Drain Dry requirements indicated on the AIS Prevention Self-certification Permit, you are prohibited from launching a watercraft until the permit conditions are met, or your watercraft or gear have been inspected at a Parks Canada watercraft inspection station.

The AIS Mobile Inspection Station will be located at the Kootenay National Park Gate – northbound lane (Radium Hot Springs) on Sunday, July 23 from 12 to 3 p.m. (subject to change as required).

It will then be located at the Continental Divide Parking Lot – Kootenay Park’s AB/B.C. border

On Highway 93 (northbound lane) on Saturday, July 29 from 1 – 4 p.m. (subject to change as required).
