Alberta woman killed in crash west of Field
On Friday, January 4, at approximately 1:30 a.m. a two-vehicle fatal collision was reported on Highway 1, approximately 20 kilometres west of Field.
Upon arrival it was determined that an eastbound passenger vehicle with two female occupants crossed the centre line and collided with a westbound transport truck, BC RCMP reported this morning.
The female passenger in the sedan (an Alberta resident) was killed as a result of the collision. The driver of the sedan sustained serious injuries while the driver of the transport truck was uninjured.
The collision remains under investigation by Trans Canada East Traffic Services (Golden), the Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service and the BC Coroners’ Service.
Weather, road conditions and driver experience are being considered as possible contributing factors to this crash.
