Art From the Attic is back

Donations are now being sought for Art From the Attic, a giant one-day sale of new and recycled art, to be held Saturday, October 9.

This year, the event will raise funds for Windermere Elementary School, under the leadership of teacher Tara Whittick. Community volunteers are most welcome.

Sale items include anything that hangs on a wall, framed or unframed, from paintings, prints, posters, quilts, and wall hangings to empty frames. The organizers also welcome three-dimensional art in the form of statuary, ceramics, and jewellery.

The sale will take place from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the new Columbia Valley Arts Centre across from Sobeys in Invermere.

Last held in 2012, Art From the Attic was a smashing success, attracting 1,000 pieces of donated art and more than 1,200 clients eager to find an art bargain or an undiscovered masterpiece.

Drop your items at the Invermere Public Library, 646-4th Street, during library hours, or request a volunteer to visit your home for pickup. Calgary pickups are also available.

Please spread the word among your friends!

To arrange a pickup, or volunteer to assist with the sale, email [email protected] or call 250-688-0541.
