Bull Riding in the Rockies July 22
The 18th annual Bull Riding in the Rockies is being held July 22 in Invermere.
A major fundraiser for the Columbia Valley Rockies of the Kootenay International Junior Hockey League, the event features professional circuit riders and competitors in the rodeo.
The fun gets rolling Friday evening at 5 p.m. with the start of the Cowboy Supper, which runs until 6:45 p.m.
Bull riding gets rocking at 7:15 p.m., including the always popular Mexican Poker game where daring cowboys try to hang in at the card table while a bull takes runs at them.
Following the rodeo is the annual family dance, with Kixxsin providing the sounds this year.
Advance tickets are $5 off – bearing in mind last year’s crowd, and the tickets are selling out, the Rockies report on their website.
Tickets ahead of time are $20 for seniors and students; $30 for adults. It will cost you $5 more at the door.
Tickets are on sale at Invermere Home Hardware; Avenue (Downtown); Radium and Fairmont Mountainside Markets, and Brisco General Store.
