Canal Flats Councillor resigns
The Village of Canal Flats is heading to a by-election this fall following the resignation of a village councillor.
Mayor Mark Doherty announced on social media June 27 that Councillor Jennifer Noble has resigned from municipal council.
“Councillor Noble has made meaningful contributions to our community, particularly in advancing our housing priority and advocating for highway speed reduction. Her efforts in these areas have helped to create positive changes and improvements for our community,” stated Mayor Doherty.
“We thank Jennifer for her service to our municipality. While we will miss her presence on the council, we respect her decision to step down and wish her well in her future endeavours.
“We will continue to build on the projects and priorities outlined in the five-year strategic plan, working towards a better and safer community.”
A by-election will be scheduled in the fall in accordance with provincial by-election requirements.
