Columbia Valley RCMP is undergoing a change of command with a familiar face taking over for departing Detachment commander Sgt. Ed deJong.

Columbia Valley Detachment’s Corporal Jeff Witzke is being promoted to Sergeant and will be the new commanding officer.

Sgt. deJong is transferring back to the North District and taking the role of the Operations NCO in Terrace.

“Jeff has been in the valley for a number of years already and will provide the continuity for the detachment and continue to encourage our members to participate in the community events,” said Sgt. DeJong.

“If you see Jeff around town or at the hockey rink, please feel free to congratulate him on the appointment.”
