Climber rescued by Columbia Valley SAR
Columbia Valley Search and Rescue (SAR) was yesterday afternoon tasked for an injured climber in the Forester Creek area.
A team of specialized Mountain Rescue Members responded with the help of Glacier Helicopters Invermere.
The subject had sustained injuries from a fall when they grabbed onto a large rock that gave way and struck them.
The team hover exited nearby and climbed down the ridge to subject before assessing and transporting the patient.
Columbia Valley Search and Rescue responds to a broad range of incidents requiring specialized skills from Swift-water to Mountain Rescue. Each discipline requires many hours of training each year to become and remain proficient.
We are fortunate to have dedicated volunteers that spend countless hours improving their craft to help those in need.
