Columbia Valley RCMP Report

This past week, November 12 through November 18, Columbia Valley RCMP responded to 37 calls for service. The following are some of the more notable files to which our officers responded.

Wallet stolen from unlocked truck

Sometime during the evening of November 11 or the morning of November 12 a wallet was stolen from an unlocked truck parked on 8th Avenue in Invermere.

Thief smashes vehicle window to gain access

Sometime between 6 and 9:30 a.m. on November 12 someone threw a rock through the window of a Volkswagen Tiguan, which was parked on 13th Street in Invermere. A gym bag containing workout gear and an iPod was stolen from the passenger side seat. The gym bag was recovered nearby but the iPod was missing.

Wallet stolen from unlocked car

On the same date a Mazda parked on 13th Street in Invermere was also broken into. A wallet was stolen from the unlocked car. The wallet was found nearby but cash from the wallet was missing. Evidence was collected for forensic identification.

Bag stashed at store-front rummaged through, items stolen

On November 18 an individual stashed her gym bag in the front lobby of a grocery store on 4th Avenue in Invermere while she was in the store. She returned approximately 30 minutes later to find someone had rummaged through her gym bag and stole some cash out of a wallet that had been left in the bag. Police are in the process of obtaining the video surveillance footage.
