One of the hikers came out a day early and came across a flash flood that washed out the road, making it impassible by vehicle. The hiker was able to cross and used his mountain bike to pedal for help. Search and Rescue was requested and confirmed the road was washed out and observed two vehicles on the wrong side of the flooded area. The hikers were eventually located and flown out to safety.
