CVCF names new interim Chair
The Columbia Valley Community Foundation (CVCF) has a new interim Chair.
Kyla Lam had taken over this role as of mid-January. Lam has been on the Board of Directors since 2019, most recently serving as Treasurer.
Lam owns an accounting practice in Invermere and her work experience includes roles in both public practice and industry. Over the last 20 years, she has volunteered for various organizations, often in a leadership role. Kyla and her husband settled in the Columbia Valley in 2012 and welcomed their son in 2015.
Lam replaces Dean Midyette, who joined the board in 2015, most recently serving as Chair since 2019.
During Midyetteâs time on the board, he was involved in many different committees, most significantly he was instrumental is raising the profile of the Foundation.
âDeanâs contributions to the Foundation and the Columbia Valley over many years is certainly appreciated, on behalf the Board of Directors I would like to personally thank Dean for all his volunteer work with the Foundation,â said Lam. âI have some big shoes to fill and I look forward continuing the work that Dean was a part of creating,â continued Lam.
The Columbia Valley Community Foundation is a charitable organization, that provides leadership in supporting investments in people, ideas and activities in all communities in the Columbia Valley through inspired philanthropy.
