On Dec. 8, at 8 a.m., Invermere Fire Rescue (IFR) was dispatched to a residence on Westside Road near Wilmer for a structure fire.

Upon arrival, it was determined that an outbuilding on the property (used as a goat shelter) had caught fire.

Firefighters were able to contain the fire to that single structure and extinguish it. No injuries were reported and all animals are safe and accounted for, IFR reported on social media.

Windermere Fire Department was called for mutual aid, but was able to stand down prior to arrival.
