Concrete boat launch at Pete’s closed
The District of Invermere announced today (May 19) it has temporarily closed the concrete pad boat launch near Pete’s Marina in Athalmer.
“Due to low water levels, resulting in increased risk of damage to a boat or trailer the concrete boat launch near Pete’s Marina is currently closed,” the district stated.
However, boated will still be able to launch and remove boats by using the gravel sections of the boat launch.
The district has placed a set of barriers in front of the concrete launch.
“We hope this is only for the short-term and we anticipate removing the lock blocks once the water level in the river channel rises,” the district said.
