CV Arts holding AGM Nov. 30 at Pynelogs

As we are sure you know, the Columbia Valley Arts (Pynelogs Cultural Centre) is a vital organization in our community, which helps to create and support the arts and cultural health and vitality of our valley. It is easy to take Pynelogs for granted as it sits beautifully just up from Kinsmen Beach.

However, as long-time residents and artists in our community, we are posting this information and asking you, if the future of art and culture matter to you in the Columbia Valley, be sure your membership in CV Arts is active and if you don’t have one, please take one out, and attend the upcoming Annual General Meeting on November 30 at 7 p.m. at Pynelogs.

Your involvement is vital in helping determine the direction this important organization takes.

Connect and reconnect with other members, in person, and enjoy coffee, tea, and soft drinks while you take in the current show.

The Columbia Valley Arts Council Board is responsible for the strategic oversight and governance of the organization. The board sets the organization’s strategic direction and approves budgets and plans.

The CVARTS strategic plan has three pillars:

  • Create stability;
  • Enhance reputation;
  • Develop membership and volunteers.

In 2023 the board adopted a comprehensive Governance Manual informed by the Governance Report prepared by consultant Ingrid Liepa in 2022, funded with the support of the Columbia Basin Trust.

Interested in joining this committed, strategic board?

The board has the ability to grow to include additional directors, those interested in standing for election are invited to provide a short bio (under 200 words) to be included in the AGM package.

Bios received by November 27 at noon local time will be included in the package.

Questions and bios can be sent to [email protected]
