The Invermere Business Committee, with the support of the District of Invermere has turned a section of 12th Street in downtown Invermere into a pedestrian-only space for the summer.

Open since June 14, the area will be open and available until Sept. 9.

“This area will create a vibrant outdoor destination that provides a unique downtown pedestrian experience for residents and visitors,” the District of Invermere noted on social media.

“This space has been modified with additional flower beds, picnic tables, umbrellas and extra seating. Throughout the summer the area will be programmed with various activities.

“We hope that residents and visitors will make the most of this experience and visit the new pedestrian area often this summer!”

Parking in front of the Invermere Post office remains open.
