ICAN ready to Raise the Woof
Save the date! On Friday November 23, at 6 p.m., the Invermere Companion Animal Network (ICAN) is hosting a comedy and dinner show at the Community Hall in Invermere. We invite you to take advantage of this, as an evening to de-stress before the holidays arrive. You could also book a table for your small business as a pre-holiday party.
The comedy group providing the entertainment is called Raise the Woof (www.woofraise.com). They are a comedy tour who work with animal rescues all over the U.S. and Canada, and help to give animals a voice through laughter. Confirmed comedians at this time are James Uloth and Lars Callieou, who can both be found on YouTube. A third comedian will be confirmed closer to the date. Catering will be provided by Anne Riches and our emcee for the evening is our very own local celebrity – Bill Cropper!
We are hosting this event as a fundraiser to raise much needed funds for a new animal rescue and adoption centre so ICAN can continue the work it started in the valley in 2007. Since that time, we have assisted with over 700 animals and our current shelter has become much too small to accommodate the needs of the community. There will be a silent auction and balloon prizes going on throughout the evening and the items are amazing! We would sincerely like to thank all the businesses and individuals who donated items for this auction.
Tickets are only $45 and can be purchased in Invermere at The Book Bar, One Hour Photo, Invermere Veterinary Hospital, Furry Companions in Radium and at Smoking Waters Cafe in Fairmont. They are going fast so make sure you get yours soon to avoid missing out! Thank you for your support!
